Director Bohdan Sláma has finished filming Swing with Zuzana Kronerová and Dagmar Havlová.

In mid-September, filming ended on the new movie by five-time Czech Lion winner Bohdan Sláma.

This time, he focused on the lives of two women whose lives are completely changed by a chance encounter. Dagmar Havlová and Zuzana Kronerová star in the lead roles of this story inspired by Lucie Konečná's novel, with Tereza Ramba, Jiří Lábus, Alena Mihulová, and Jiří Rendl in supporting roles. The film was shot during the summer months in southern and northern Bohemia and will premiere in theaters next fall.

"Houpačky is about friendship. It's about the meeting of two women who are completely different, but whose life situations give rise to a special relationship," explained director Bohdan Sláma. "The chance meeting of two women who are different in character and appearance sets in motion a comical but touching story about female solidarity and emancipation. The central theme is life and its quality in old age," added the film's producers Martin Růžička and Jindřich Motýl from LUMINAR Film.

The leading roles were given to Zuzana Kronerová and Dagmar Havlová, who also contributed to the screenplay. "We worked on the screenplay for three years, so I knew even the subtlest nuances of the role. Bohdan Sláma had to persuade me at the beginning because I didn't want to film anymore, but I'm really glad I did it, it was wonderful work," explained the former first lady, who plays the widow Zdena in the film. "She is going through a difficult period, for which I prepared very thoroughly," added the actress.

"The story is bittersweet—it has a lot of humor, playfulness, closeness, and warmth, but there are also serious situations. And that's exactly the kind of script I like," added her co-star Zuzana Kronerová, who has already won a Czech Lion and Czech Film Critics' Award for her work with Bohdan Sláma, as well as the Slovak Slnko v sieti award for the film The Ice Queen. In 2001, she also won a Czech Lion for Sláma's film Wild Bees.

A large part of the film was shot in southern Bohemia, mainly in Blatná and the Bořice area, with other locations found in northern Bohemia, mainly in Štětí and Děčín.

The film is co-produced by Česká televize and ATTACK FILM (SK). The film will be released in Czech cinemas in the fall of 2026 thanks to the distribution company FALCON.

The film was supported by the Audiovisual Funds of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The production of the film was also co-financed from the budget of the South Bohemian Region.
