Prima is filming a new series called Inspection with Dyk, set in the GIBS environment
The eight-part series with procedurally self-contained episodes will offer stories inspired by reality, ranging from abuse of power to sophisticated crimes within the system.
The Prima Group is currently filming a new crime series called Inspection for its Prima+ streaming service, which will take viewers behind the scenes of the General Inspection of Security Forces (GIBS). The eight-part series is being produced in collaboration with this institution and aims to give the Czech public a glimpse into a world that is largely hidden from view. The series stars Vojtěch Dyk, Kristýna Ryška, and Martin Finger, and is directed by David Laňka.
"Inspekce is a crime procedural series partly inspired by real cases that took place within the Czech security forces. It presents powerful moral dilemmas, investigative procedures, and psychologically complex characters," says Jan Maxa, director of the Prima group's VOD segment, describing the concept. "The series aims to open up a whole new world of crime and punishment, criminality and justice to Czech viewers. With the help of GIBS, it presents their work and contributes to the overall education of viewers in terms of the functioning of our legal system," adds Maxa.
"The goal is by no means to deliberately highlight defects in the armed forces, but rather to show that there is an effective organization that can keep these forces healthy," says producer Jindřich Motýl. "GIBS is an organization that is still little known in the media. The aim is to show its activities, methods, and results, thereby contributing to the prevention of crime within the armed forces," adds producer Martin Růžička.
The series Inspekce will be added to the Prima+ lineup in 2026. Filming is taking place mainly in the Ústí nad Labem Region, particularly in the Litoměřice area, as well as in Prague. The series is being produced for the Prima group by the production company Lumivod.
