Within folk traditions, the bear dance is a characteristic of carnival celebrations. The bear was considered a symbol of fertility and a woman who wanted to become a mother had to dance with it.
Our story touches on serious contemporary issues. Prenatal diagnostics and genetics can tell us a lot about the child to be born. But these unexpected possibilities present parents with difficult decisions. In the film, a young couple tries to cope with the medical news that their dream child has a fifty percent chance of having an intellectual disability.
The author team is based on a real life story in which emotions and personal experiences play an important role.
The film is now in pre-production.
